Frequently Asked Questions
BioTrak
Q. Is BioTrak colorfast, so I can use it as emergency toilet paper without turning orange? A. Yes. The color will not wash out or rub off.
Q. Why is there a black geometric pattern printed on the bright orange paper? A. Tests have shown that the black pattern makes it easier to spot these markers any time. This is even more important if you hunt in the fall when leaves are orange. The combination of orange and black BioTrak ensures easier visibility at all times.
Q. If BioTrak breaks down rapidly in the rain, how can I use it to safely mark my trail during a rainstorm? A. Twisting BioTrak gives it greater density and enables it to last through several rains. During a rainstorm, simply shield the roll with your body, twist about a 12 inch strip into a tight ribbon, and tie it to a twig.
Schaefer Shooting Games Targets
Q. How long will one target last? A.With arrows, typically for hundreds of shots. Taping the targets to cardboard or another flat surface will extend their life. Our hole patches in matching target colors greatly extend the useful life of the targets when used with guns.
Q. How does the handicapping system work? A. Each target has easier and harder options for play. For example, a circle inside a square. The better shooter uses the circle while the less adept shooter uses the full square. This enables shooters with different abilities to enjoy the same game, and compete on more even terms.
Q. What is the handicapping system on your Billiards target? A. Since 8-ball is the most popular version of pool played, we put the handicapping factor on the 8-ball shot itself. The better shooter must hit the white center, touching or completely inside, while the lesser shooter only has to touch the 8-ball.
FeatherFast
Q. Who invented this method for attaching feathers so quickly and early? A. Robert Schaefer introduced this technique at the Bowhunting Trade Show in 1991, after two years of research and development. FeatherFast is the original product of its kind and is superior for many reasons having to do with its design, ease of use, and superior holding power.
Q. Where I hunt there are wide swings in temperature, and it often rains. Will FeatherFast survive these extremes? A. Yes. FeatherFast withstands being frozen, thawed and saturated. In fact, FeatherFast bonds get even stronger when exposed to extreme variations in temperature and humidity. FeatherFast users have lost arrows in winter, and found them in summer still in perfect condition.
Q. Can I use FeatherFast to repair a feather fletching in the field? What about ones that had been previously attached with regular wet glue? A. Yes, FeatherFast is ideal for field repairs. Just place a strip of FeatherFast on the shaft right over the glue or broken quill that remains. Press down on the backing paper, remove the backing paper and then press the feather back into position. The broken "crud" on the shaft will matrix with the quill, and the FeatherFast will lock the feather in place instantly.
